I think the only thing more disturbing than clinging steadfastly to cliches is the need people have to spout them. In many cases it is hard to tell if someone is trying to actually help or merely display their mastery of said cliches. On the upside, they make genuine words stand out and appear even more special.

Take care.fur sissyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06773975470940525031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097573368575371682.post-85780079462731515592017-06-22T07:41:48.984-05:002017-06-22T07:41:48.984-05:00It's human nature to revert to clichés. It...It's human nature to revert to clichés. It's so much easier to spout what's regarded as a "truth" than to actually think about the things involved and the alternative points of view. Reminds me of the lemmings who just follow each other over the edge of the cliff, unquestioning, all-accepting, and perfectly ridiculous. Homo sapiens have much in common with the darling little rodents.Lady Greyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10795130564028111447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097573368575371682.post-27948141976472954172017-06-16T22:24:26.905-05:002017-06-16T22:24:26.905-05:00Thank you, Ferns. The best one about that cliche is that you can keep repeating it indefinitely even if nothing ever improves or even gets worse.

Take care.fur sissyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06773975470940525031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097573368575371682.post-61779205177356138402017-06-16T18:55:12.284-05:002017-06-16T18:55:12.284-05:00This made me laugh.
I agree that many MANY people...This made me laugh.

I agree that many MANY people trot out cliches as if they are so very knowledgeable, and they are generously imparting their great secrets upon the unwashed masses. Apparently if you learn a few trite cliches, you are suddenly blessed with the deep wisdom of the universe.

It's hilarious and irritating as fuck.

(to be fair I'm probably guilty of doing that at times also)

One of the ones that bugs me most is 'communicate' or 'TALK to them'. Look pal, if the people involved knew how to do that, THEY'D BE DOING IT ALREADY FFS YOU AREN'T HELPING!

*laugh*

Good rant.

FernsFernshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08120135882551792775noreply@blogger.com
