Milestone: 1,000,000 hits

I sort of hate that I limped through the gate without a new post over the past few days but I finally hit 1,000,000 page views today.

I'm in a little bit of a writing rut but hopefully I'll be back up with the next chapter of fs01 soon.

Thank you everyone that reads here, especially those that comment.

Take care.

    1. Thank you, Misty.

I had like 940k views when I stopped blogging in 2012. Finally got to 1M though :)

    1. Thank you.

I did have a drawing planned but it is on hiatus for the moment. Drawing has been a but more of a frustration than a joy over the paat few years. Hopefully it won't be too long before I finish that drawing at least.

  6. Hi, fur. This has nothing to do with this posting, and I'm sorry to be a bother, but I need some help with a technical matter and I imagine that you'd have the answer. If I'm writing a new posting - or replying to a comment - I often would like to make it possible to just click on a word or URL so that the reader can be directed to another of my postings by simply clicking a word like "here" or the URL itself, or whatever. I had directions on how to do this from years ago, but they're no longer working.

I'd be most appreciative if you could send me directions as to how to do this. Just post it as a comment on my last posting, and I'll erase it since this is just between the two of us. And, feel free to erase this comment as well. Forgive me if this is a pain, and if you can't answer I'll understand. Thanks!!

    1. No problem, Lady Grey.

Posting the link is easy through a blog post, not so much in a comment.

I will do a quick test reply to see if it works in various formats.

    2. Let's see if I can make the code display as a test:

      <*a href="http://womanincontrol.blogspot.com">Test<*/a>

    3. Thank you so much, fur. I wish you could see how your answer is posted under my "comments awaiting approval" spot. It came across as 75% illegible gobbledygook with all sorts of weird abbreviations and symbols. This is not unusual, and not your fault (I tried to copy and paste it back to you so you could see how crazy it looked, but that is evidently impossible). However, I was able to glean the instructions for the basic linking, and it worked perfectly. As for the linking to a comment, those instructions were un-translatable (if that's a word), I fear. However, I'm thrilled to have the first part working, and I do appreciate your generous help.

    4. You're welcome, Lady Grey.

If you look at the comment above the one you just left it has the code for it, minus the *'s. It is lots of < and > with letters in between.

      Take care.

    5. Actually, fur, it just occurred to me that if you posted your answer here, I'd be able to read it! Only Google knows why my "comments awaiting approval" spot does such damage to a message. So if it's not too much trouble, and if you can figure it out, just post the comment link solution here. Again, thank you!

    6. Got it, fur! Sorry to tie you up this way (as opposed to other ways:)) I'll have to try it out on a comment if the need arises. Mucho Gracias, Amigo!

    7. :)

      <*a href="http://womanincontrol.blogspot.com">Test<*/a>

The standard formatting for that is that you will have delete the *'s. The item in the " " is the web address you want to link to. The Text where I wrote Test is what will display as the link.
e.g. this would be a link to Vacation part 1 with the clickable text being "Part 1":
      <*a href="http://womanincontrol.blogspot.com/2016/07/tropical-vacation-part-1.html">Part 1<*/a>

I hope this helps. I used to code websites by hand in notepad years ago, it still comes in handy some days :)

    9. I think this style of coding is fairly old school, Lady Grey :)

I don't know many who still code at all by hand. Back when websites only allowed for 2-5Mb of storage space keeping code small was important. It comes in handy every so often.

      Take care.
