30 Days of submission: Day 10

Does any element of BDSM occur as a part of your submissive relationships?

It's so easy to write in-depth responses to vague questions. Oops, I meant sarcastic responses.

It has.  Bondage, discipline, and D/s occur regularly.

How do you feel about BDSM? Is it core to your submission, peripheral or non-existent (other than the submission part)?

I seriously don't understand how to answer this.  I will type words and hopefully come to something.

Kinky stuff is good.

Symbols like collars are nice.

Bondage and discipline help display power.

I like cake.

I don't think the kinky aspects are absolutely necessary, but generally I have enjoyed them and the Dommes I have been with have enjoyed them too.

So, yes.

    1. :)

Ah yes, that form of Cake was quite popular during my heyday.

The edible kind of cake is good, too.

    2. I was playing that song for my spouse the other day when I was scrolling through youtube. I'd forgotten how fun the lyrics are. Like, "fingernails that shine like justice" - makes me smile every time.

I don't know about your heyday; I don't think I've personally ever had one. But I remember when there was actually something new and exciting and NOT mainstream about alternative rock, and I liked Cake for that reason.

Edible cake... If it's homemade, from scratch? Yes please! Otherwise, it's not really my thing.

      Anywhoo...

I actually kind of like Vague Question #1, above. There seems to be a somewhat overboard focus on things like bondage and pain in D/s relationships, at least where online writing is concerned. As though the Only Way to conduct one's self within a power exchange relies completely on a Domme taking sadistic pleasure in inflicting pain, and a sub not being a True Sub unless he's getting off on being humiliated and pummeled. But one can be dominant without whips and latex costumes, and one can be submissive in sweet and lovely ways that don't require innate masochism.

So my answer to the BDSM question would be along the lines of, "While occasionally we play with bondage and spanking and other 'BDSM' activities, those activities are not key to my dominance or his submission. BDSM describes a few of the things we do; it is not Who We Are."

    3. Thank you, Mrs Fever.

1994ish was probably my heyday hehe. Things felt new, shiny, and exciting and I wasn't overly jaded yet.

A lot of my friends were bigger Cake fans than I was. Sunny Day Real Estate was my default back then.

I actually don't eat much cake but I tend to agree with you on that.

What you wrote definitely clarified the question quite a bit for me. I tend to get overly hung up on D/s aspects of the lifestyle when I write.

I definitely feel most submissive when our eyes meet and I feel an overwhelming sense of love.

I sometimes forget that these questions are written from the BDSM point of view that draws lines that I don't even think about.

Take care and thank you for the input.
